Detailed description of Seacliff Country Club

SeaCliff Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Huntington Beach, California.

The course first opened for play in 1965. The SeaCliff Golf Course was designed by Press Maxwell. Ron Fream redesigned the course in 1985, and during 1995, Ted Robinson redesigned holes #13 and #14.

The course is located close to the Pacific Ocean, so there is a lot of wind, particularly in the afternoons. The course has numerous oak trees lining the fairways.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,935 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,586 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 580 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 9, a par-3 that plays to 158 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 426 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 215 yard par-3.

The signature hole is #18, a 498-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot over a lake.    Hole #14 could be considered a second signature hole.  It is a long 412-yard, par 4, from the back tee, featuring water directly in front of its undulating green.

I am sure the greens and fairways get in better condition than the day I played. For a Country Club a little disappointed in greens.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area
